kakamega high school was selected as a center of excellence and funded at a tune of over 30million to build modern administration block and classrooms this has boosted the school quest of becoming a national school hence its been earmarked for the upgrade by the government to be among the 84 provincial schools to benefit in the 1st phase,the project was commissioned mid last year 2010 by the permanent secretary ministry of education and is its on the final completion stages,
